Hello,

I have a feature request for this TVSeries plugin.

I would like to see an option that enables us to download the TV series content of all future episodes for that season.

Right now the only option I see is to download the entire series seasons info, but in my case I don't want previous seasons.

The reason I would like something like this is because it will be easy and I will quickly see when the next episode will air.

Also, If the episode has not aired yet, when I change my view to "unwatched" I don't want it to assume the episode has not been seen yet and show up in the list.

This would be a fantastic feature and I hope most of you will agree.

I don't see the need to create extra bandwidth on the server and download images, etc... Although most likely this wouldn't even be worth doing because the episode would not be on the system until it is near the airing date?

Exactly most shows are only a few episodes ahead as far as listed on tvdb, and they only have the episode name and thats usually it since they cant get thumbnails until they have the show.

I always do a full import for all seasons and stuff. It takes like forever but then I simply "hide" previous seasons. This way you get a "next air date" for most series.

I use a seperate PHP based system myself that scrapes "tvnzb.com/shows" to obtain a list of TV show names that can be used, and then passes them onto "tvrage.com/quickinfo.php?show=...." to find out what their status is (New, Ended, On Break, etc), including info on when the next episode is on.

It then also generates an RSS feed that can be used with SABnzbd+ or a comparable NZB client, to automatically obtain those shows. It's a modified version of "MyTvNZBrss", which you can obtain yourself @ TVNZB.com :: View topic - MyTvNZB rss v2.5

So I setup an extra menu entry in MediaPortal that uses the WebBrowser plugin to view a custom webpage to see exactly when a next episode is on, or if a show got cancelled/etc.

    i.e.: 24 [Monday at 09:00 pm (60min) --- Next Episode: 08x01 (Jan/17/2010)]

That's exactly what I do right now but it's a pain in the ass to hide all teh seasons of the shows. Plus when I ask it to show me the "unwatched" episodes it lists the future episodes that I don't have yet.

The reason it's important to me is because it helps me identify if I missed an episode on my torrent RSS downloader.

    Hey Rochess

That sounds like quite the setup. I use kind of a hybrid (and its in transition), but something I've found completely invaluable , which doesn't seem to have really 'made the rounds' is 'torrent episode downloader' from ted: torrent episode downloader - downloads new episodes for your favorite TV Shows . Really really really useful piece of software.

Another very easy setup which just makes use of the WebBrowser plugin is configure http://www.myepisodes.com and then you can do something similar to the following screenshots.

    Hey ltfearme

I got excited when I saw those screens, but when I checked out the site what I found was it is essentially a record keeping service, essentially to show you a schedule and let you tick off "Done" to each episode. Am I understanding right?

You might want to check out TED too, because although not perfect, my setup is actually pretty automatic.

It goes from TED (which checks epguides schedule, checks the date, decides what new episode is needed, looks for the torrent, Q/A's the available ones and either downloads it or waits to try again), this is passed to utorrent, which then dumps the file to an "import" directory that I monitor with a tvrenamer with auto-scan and move. Mediaportal then picks up the new file, and, assuming that I have the "future episodes" turned off, (and not marked watched), and the "Unwatched" view on, presents me with the banners for shows that have new episodes waiting.

Now sometimes things get hung up along the way, but I'd say the vast majority of shows make it through the whole process without any manual intervention, which is all to the good :)

It's really for those shows that you are following currently, and always watch though. I love MP because it gives me some ability to start to incorporate the remote and the large interface into tasks that otherwise I would have to pull out the keyboard and switch out of MP for.

Yes, it can be used for keeping a record of what has been watched/acquired. But I dont use it for that (too lazy). I just use to read when my next episodes will be available.
