Hope this is the right place for this.
I'm running a 2nd screen HTPC with an RF remote, which is simultaneously used for other tasks on the main screen; so MP rarely has focus. But when MP loses focus and isn't playing a video, its frame rate drops to 9fps. This makes controlling MP with the remote incredibly sluggish.
Apparently, this isn't a bug or a real performance limitation; but a "feature" intentionally designed in, which I found accurately described in this thread:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-1-0-rc-3-6-519/gui-low-fps-no-focus-no-running-video-83304/
In that thread, tourette's suggested this "feature" can be removed by commenting out a couple of lines of code. I'm currently contacting him to see if he can help me find them.
However, this "feature" should really be made a configurable option!
