Few interface enhancements for video selection screen (1 Viewer)

I just installed Media Portal on my computer (and am loving it!) I switched over from using TVedia, so I have one suggestion to make based off of my experiences from that.

I like browsing my videos in thumbnail view, but MediaPortal is not very good at that because
1. You have to create screenshots and then place them in the folder with the same name as the video file.
2. The overall aesthetic of the icon is not very nice :)
3. The video function seems to be geared towards movies where a screenshot can be captured from IMDB and the information. But I have a lot of non-movie files (anime) that cannot be processed like that. I would really like it to get a screenshot.

I think it would be REALLY nice if someone could make the icon system look a little more like TVedia where the main folder gets a composite icon (formed from some of the icons of the files inside that folder). Here is a picture of what I'm talking about.

Basically, this would involve
1. Getting a screen capture from every movie file with certain dimensions, clipping out the black space (other than the clipping, this could be accomplished with an OSS tool like mplayer).
2. Applying a nice little border to the picture
3. Labeling all of the individual little files with their thumbnails
4. Making a composite image and applying it to the parent folder (Taking some random pictures from inside the folder, rotating them in different ways, and superimposing them)

I think this would increase the overall aesthetic of the MP video function greatly. Of course, it doesn't have to be done this way. The most important thing I would like to have, is to automatically generate thumbnails for video files (I tried making mplayer do this but I can't get it to work). Thanks for such a good piece of software, and I hope you'll consider my suggestion :)
