Hi All,

I pretty new to this HTPC and would like to know the answers to some questions i have, so any help is apperciated.

1) Does Mediaportal support a GOTO function? i.e. on my media player i can press GOTO and then select which part of the movie i would like to skip to.

2) does it support resume play? i.e on the media player if i watch something half way and switch of the player it remembers the position of the movie and will start back exactly where i left when i press play.

3) Can i backup my settings on Mediaportal? in case i need to replicate them elsewhere.

4) Does MediaPortal play full M2ts and ISO files? I have many full BDrips

5) Does it support multiple audio tracks? if so is it easy to switch between them?

6) can Mediaportal do HD audio?

9) Will my remote a Imon (see below) based work with Mediaportal?
Thermaltakeusa » Accessories » Drive Bay » Media Lab VFD Panel : Media Lab VFD Panel A2328

10) The coverart created by Mediaportal does it create multiple folders of movie titles and places coverart within the folder OR does it have a single folder with multiple folders with that contain all the art and a link to the movie file?

i.e. on my dune player i use YADIS which creates one single folder with multiple folders that contain all the pics and info etc which then link back to the movie location from the file list.

Thanks

    Hi and welcome a5ian300zx :)

I can answer a few of your questions.

    1) Does Mediaportal support a GOTO function? i.e. on my media player i can press GOTO and then select which part of the movie i would like to skip to.
I don't think so. MP's approach is to use skip steps that allow you to skip forwards or backwards by 5s, 15s, 30s, 45s ... 30m etc. Wiki details -->here<--.

    2) does it support resume play? i.e on the media player if i watch something half way and switch of the player it remembers the position of the movie and will start back exactly where i left when i press play.
    Yes :)

    3) Can i backup my settings on Mediaportal? in case i need to replicate them elsewhere.
With TV Server there is an import-export function, so that would be a yes there. Wiki details -->here<--.
With MP there is a settings file called MediaPortal.xml that you can back up.

    4) Does MediaPortal play full M2ts and ISO files? I have many full BDrips
Yes. You can use Daemon Tools or Virtual Clone Drive to mount and play them - MP will automount for you. Details in the wiki -->here<--.

    5) Does it support multiple audio tracks? if so is it easy to switch between them?
Yes and yes. You can set your remote up to toggle audio tracks using the 'a' key. You can also select them from a context menu as shown -->here<-- (the audio language option).

    6) can Mediaportal do HD audio?
I think yes, but best to let someone else confirm.

Again, I think yes, but someone else should confirm.

    10) The coverart created by Mediaportal does it create multiple folders of movie titles and places coverart within the folder OR does it have a single folder with multiple folders with that contain all the art and a link to the movie file?
    Not sure, sorry.

Hope that helps as a starter. :)

    hi a5ian300zx, welcome :)

Just to add regarding point 1:
You can jump to a specific time by just entering the 4digit-(HHMM) position while playing video. Example, 0030 will jump to 30minutes.
