Hi,
I have connected the above system to a 5.1 Pioneer VSX-LX60 which supports up to DTS via HDMI.
Up to recently I only had stereo sound when playing .MKV files (DVD's & playstation work fine) via my HTPC.
After reading a lot on the forum's I decided to start reconfiguring the system to get 5.1 sound. Using the FFSHOW codec seemed the best option.
Now I did download the verion of 8/12/2009 and installed it.
It works, however there is 1 problem: The sound is 'stuttering', and I see on the display of my amp that the dts signalling is from time to time for a fraction of a second falling away. The weardest thing is that the frequency depends upon the 'content' of the sound; i.e. when there is a scene with no music, only voice then it might work for 5-10 seconds. On the other hand when it is a scene with lots of action (music) then it happens every 2-3 seconds.
Anybody an idea where the problem could be?
Second question: I am looking for a freeware tool that helps me in identifiing in a .MKV or .AVI the type of sound (i.e AAC, DD,DTS,....)
Thanks a lot inn advance
