I'm giving this a go:

- FFDShow 3094 (03 Oct. 2009)
- MP 1.1 Beta 1 SVN 23831 (1.04.23831)

TV is unstable when switching to new channel. Selecting TV Off then On again restores a stable image.

I am using FFDShow both as a decoder (libmpg) and filter.

My feeling is this is related to another problem reported with MP which results in the TV image freezing intermitently.

What should the settings in FFDShow be to use it with MP?

I thought FFDShow was disabled in MediaPortal because of incompatibility with TSReader/Writer? Have you tried Graphstudio to check if the filters you think are in use, actually is?

Yes I had everything set up correctly. I later learned that the version of FFDShow I was using, 3094, was a Beta version and may not have been fully compatible with MP. I switched to an earlier release of FFDShow which managed to work fine. So I might suggest try one of the stable releases of FFDShow.

In the end I chucked it all away as FFDShow was actually more trouble than it's worth. And the image quality or smoothness of the decoding was lackluster to say the least.
