What is the correct way of setting up folder structure for movies...

For example, I have a single folder called "Movies", I've placed all my movies into there.

Some movies are split, e.g. Bond cd1 and Bond cd2...

But when I view this on the front end (via MediaPortal) the split is still shown e.g. Bond cd1 and Bond cd2

Does this problem occur because of the folder structure?

For managing your movies, I would definitely recommend the Moving Pictures plugin over the default My Videos plugin that is installed by default. See the subforum on Moving Pictures - MediaPortal Forum

I personally get the best results by having a folder for each movie. I name the folder <moviename> (<year>). This allows Moving Pictures to make the best match between your files and IMDB information. Inside Moving Pictures you can "merge" two files to be seen as a single movie. More info on their own website I guess.

If you still want to use the default My Videos, it should pick up double files if you named the exactly the same, ending with "- cd1" and "- cd2". A few more naming conventions work, but don't remember them by heart.
