Since the changes in svn to the RecordedTV section, I have enabled the auto-thumb creation for recorded TV and it looks great.

I have a problem with the creation of thumbs for HD h264 programs, which I will post a bug report for.

My improvement suggestion would be for the ability to control the auto-thumb creation settings. For example, I use a 1 column by 1 row setup (for 1 big snapshot)...I'm guessing MediaPortal calculates the interval to retrieve the screenshot by some basic arithmetic and in my setup chooses the mid-point of the recording, which usually happens to be adverts. It would be great if the option to set where the first screengrab and subsequent intervals of screengrabs could be selectable in MP config.

Apologies for the reply to my own thread, this is a bit more of a 'bling' feature if possible. I use comskip to detect adverts. It would be funky if MP could detect if comskip plugin is enabled, if so auto-thumb creation waits for comskip to complete, then use the generated comskip files to avoid taking a snapshot at the detected ad breaks.

Another idea I've had regarding the use of mtn.

If this was moved to a TVServer plugin, then the process could be automatically run at the end of a recording - much like comskip - so that the thumbnail is automatically available when you go into Recorded TV section, at the moment the user needs to enter the Recorded TV section twice, the 1st time the thumbnails are not available, and mtn.exe is invoked.

The other options I mentioned above should still be added ;)
