    Hi all,

After working with the microsoft mediacenters Windows MCE 2004,2005 and 7 ultimate (and a popcorn hour a-110) for the last years on my desktop I descided it was time for a dedicated HTPC. Microsoft MCE is great, but it has to little freedom to customize so I on my quest for new software I found mediaportal... It just looks.... Wow awesome! (after using a new skin).

I have it running on the following machine:

AMD Athlon II X2 235e / 2.7 GHz Energy Efficient
    ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO - Moederbord - ATX - 785G
    Kingston ValueRAM - Geheugen - 2 GB ( 2 x 1 GB )- DDR3 - 1333 MHz / PC3-10600 - CL9 - 1.5
Hauppage HVR-2200 (dual hybrid tuner, but only wanna use analog)
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
    Termaltake D101

    MP 1.1 BETA + SVN

I have the series and movie sections running, but I find it hard to configure the tv-server.
The server finds 4 tuners, that is correct
    -I disabled the digital tuners
-I search for channels with one of the analog cards (medium sensitivity)
-It finds a lot of channels, but often multiple entries of the same channel.
-Also it doesn't recognise the channel name....

    My questions:

(-How do I have to set up my tv-server.)
-Why do I get multiple entries of the same channel (only searching with one tuner) [ACCEPTED]
-How do I get the names of the channels (do I have to do this manually?)[FIXED]
-How can I speed up changing from one channel to another?
-The television channel isn't really full screen, it misses an inch or so in the corners. How do I fix this? [FIXED]
-How do I get the EPG to work [FIXED]

Thnx for your time and help.

Analogue feeds don't contain channel names. Unless WebEPG renamed the channels for you (never tried it since it doesn't support Canada), you'll have to name them manually.

I've never heard someone say that they're getting duplicates while doing a single scan of an analogue feed. As it's scanning, it's reporting multiple channels found on a given frequency?

How fast is your channel change? 2-3 secs is not abnormal. If it's much longer, it could be quite a few things. Try disabling FW on server/client, to see if it makes a difference. If you're using a Dlink router (or other brand?) in your house, disable DNS relay.

I get analog duplicates in New Zealand, this is because there are multiple copies of the same channel on different frequencies depending on which transmitter station it comes from.

As above, analog feed doesn't contain channel name information.

MP 1.1 BETA + SVN has channel changing improvement features, or you could wait for MP 1.1 RC1 which is due out soon.

    tnx for ur answers.

Because the channels were such a mess I removed them all and put the frequencies in manually.
Now all the channels are correc. I did had to switch source from cable to antenna for this to work.
The epg problem is also fixed. first i had to select a grabber (see link above). But this grabber didn't work. On the forum was posted an updated version of this file I needed to overwrite, now everything works a lot better.

the channel changing is still to slow for my taste, gonna try the suggestions and gonna report back.

The zapping speed was about ~10secs, so way to slow. Ow and I forgot to mention it, but I allready use the latest MP 1.1 BETA + SVN.

Try disabling FW on server/client, to see if it makes a difference.

Sorry I am new to all the settings, what is "FW"?

    What did I do:
I figured out some things now.
In the Mediaportal configuration I adjusted the following:

    -MediaPortal Configuration > General > On-Screen Display > Zap delay 0 sec.
    -TV Server Configuration > Additonal 3rd party checks > Streaming port was not available;

    at

-TV Server Configuration > Streaming Server> I mannually put in the IP adres & set the port to 554, its default.

    Results:
The zapping speed is now about... ~4secs, so a big improvement. It is better but I want it faster. So let's tweak some more.

    My codecs:
Maybe I have to use different codecs? These are the ones I am using:

    Codecs:
-MPEG-2 Video Deco: MPC - MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)
-H.264 Video decoder: ffdshow Video Decoder
-MPEG/AC3 audio decoder: MPC - MPA Decoder Filter
-AAC audio decoder: MONOGRAM AAC Decoder
    -Audio render: Digitale audio (S/PDIF)
    -Fallback de-interlance: None

    Extra question:
And another question; Wat do the following timings do?

TV Server Configuration > General > Scan >
    Tune/PAT/CAT/PMT/SDT/VCT/ANALOG >

    Thnx again guys
