i am configuring fusion dvico remote control keys for mediaportal and have a problem. i cannot find how to close mp from full screen mode. I am hoping i can map a keyboard button to execute a close application command?

I have searched the board but cannot find what i need. Snyone please.. This is the last thin g i need to get the wife to accept the whole mediapc in the living room.

Welcome to the forums, longshot!

When you can map any command to your remote, just map "ALT+F4" like Bram already wrote.
If this remote button shall only close MediaPortal and nothing else, you could write a small batch file (something like "Close-MP.bat") with the right command inside and let this batch file be executed when you press the right remote button.
There are many small command line programs out there which allow killing processes, I'm using "pskill.exe" for this task - it's very reliable, you just have to enter the command "pskill MediaPortal.exe" and it will be done.

If you kill MP some settings might not be saved. Let it exit properly, otherwise you might experience some problems, if you kill it too often. (Broken config file, broken database, ...)

Well, of course the best way is just closing MediaPortal with the "X" button on the mainscreen. If you cannot see this button bar, it has to be activated in the configuration.
But if MediaPortal freezes, it can be helpful when you can kill the process with the remote without having to use a keyboard or a mouse (which shouldn't be necessary on a real HTPC).
