Hi, I'm not sure if this is useful to anyone or if I'm even posting in the right forum.

However, I have managed to extract the RTMP downloading code from Xbmc which I think was based on RTMPDump for Linux. This could allow MediaPortal to have native support for Youtube, Hulu and BBC Iplayer (which I have been using it for).

If any of the devs would like the code so that it could be integrated, please let me know.

So have you converted the logic from C++ to C#? What do you mean by "extract"? I would be interested in taking a peek at the code though. Can you post a link to what you've done so far?

Sorry I have taken some time to get back. By extract I mean have taken the C++ RTMP Downloading code out of XBMC. This means it is now only a few files and it would be very simple to write a managed C++ wrapper for so that it could be called by C#. I have attached the C++ files.

How do you check it? And why keep it when we have an IMDBID in the database - it's almost 100% guaranteed accurate identification of the film, IMDBURL is just unnecessary information that will clutter the database.

Yes, I used UNC paths (for some reason, I couldn't type them in and had to use on-screen keyboard). By using UNC paths, the stuttering was gone and playback was smooth but later, I had encountered a plethora of problems: 1. Captions and subtitles were slightly out of sync (about 500 ms) 2. MP2 client was not shutting down correctly...

I've been using version 1.2.2.0 for years and have found no need to upgrade to newer version. I hate it that skins loose compatibility with almost every new version. And new skins are too 'fancy' for my taste. I use a customized version of the default wide skin with only Videos and TV in the main menu. I use mediaportal for recording...

I didn’t know this, however as they hadn’t announced anything new for a while I should have guessed. Sad though. I’ve had a harmony remote for about 15years. Now I’m using the elite with hub and it’s amazing. hopefully they stick to their word and keep up support.
