A week ago I started setting up my HTPC. I installed BDA drivers for my floppydtv and started testing with the TV part of MediaPortal. I noticed changing channels was very slow, 4 - 7 seconds. When I use the FireDTV Viewer channel changing is done in 1 - 2 seconds.

So I deinstalled the BDA drivers and installed the MCE drivers to test in Vista Media Center. In here zapping is also done in 1 - 2 seconds.

I then reinstalled the BDA drivers and installed TVServer 3. Again 4 - 7 seconds seconds zapping time. So I deinstalled TVServer 3.

What am I doing wrong? Do I have some faulty settings perhaps, or is MP just slow with changing channels with this TV card? I hope to find a solution because I really need fast zapping.

I use the AlphaCrypt CAM firmware version 3.12. I use the latest firmware for the floppydtv and the latest stable drivers.

Thanks in advance,
Roel

Thank you,

It seems to be a little bit faster now I changed the CAM settings. But zapping still takes twice the time floppydtv viewer takes. Any ideas to tweak this a little more? I will have a look at the TSReader.

I just spend two days to find out the OSD zap-delay of 2 seconds was bugging me... I've now set it to 0 seconds and zapping is alot (well 2 seconds) faster.

MediaPortl Setup -> General -> On-Screen Display

    Hello Roelster,

you could tweak the CAM settings like I described here. You could also try using the new TSreader.ax.

    Hi!

I'm having the same problem with channel changing taking forever.
After I have changed to the new TSreader, I'm down ot something like 7-8 seconds (coming from 10 seconds).
I have played around a bit in both the TV3 configuration and MP configuration, but I have no idea where to find the CAM settings. Can you please point me in the right direction?

    Kind regards,
    Jan

    Configuration:
    TV3 Latest SVN
    MP 0-2.3.0
    FloppyDTV (DVB-T Boxer)
    Vista

I already did. Just read the thread I linked...

If I'm an Idiot, I apologize for that:sorry: But Now I have read trough the linked thread once more, and I cannot find anyone mentioning where I find the settings for CA-Mode, Smartcard report etc.
Is this in the TV server config, or is this something separated from TV server/MP?
