I'm currently looking at adding a dual tuner card for Digital free to air TV. Can be PCI or USB, but must do SD and HD.

Can any of the Aussies recommend me a card that will flawlessly work with MP (especially in the brisbane area)

    Hi Peter,

I don't have any direct experience with the DigitalNow TwinDVB-T card, but I do have a single DNTVLive! LP (from the same source) that has always worked flawlessly with MediaPortal (whereas the Dvico Fusion card I have is cranky).

Also, I can vouch for the excellent support from DigitalNow - I don't think you could go wrong with this one.... :)

Yeah, I couldn't recommend Fusion cards at the moment either. Mine can be quite cranky at times. Thank god for the internet to catch up on missed recordings.

I got my self the DigitalNow TwinDVB-T card, and I must say it is absolutely great. It worked without a problem with MP 0.2RC3 and with a little capturecards.xml tweak it works great with MP 0.1.1.1

I would recomend this dual tuner DVB-T card to other MP users looking for a DVB-T solution.

I'm running 5 tuners now in my HTPC, 3 x analog H/W and 2 x DVB-T and it works like a dream. No problems recording 5 channels at the same time.

Thanks Taipan for pointing me in this direction.

I am pleased to hear that..... :)

But, I gotta ask - where do you find the time to watch all those recorded TV programs...

    Hi there guytpeti,
Nice to see another MP convert in the Sunshine State :D

I haven't had any problems with with my Fusion Plus card since installing it with 0.12.
Although when I added an UltraView Plus things fell apart, until I installed the dual card patch.
Everything has been running flawlessly now on RC2 for months, I don't think I've missed a show or needed to reboot in at least 12 weeks.

I did have a problem when the I filled up the hard drive

anyway have fun with it :)

    Cheers

    Jamie

Great news, what is the channel changing speed like? I've currently got a Compro DVB-T300 and it take approx 8secs to change. :(

If the TwinDVB-T is quick I am SOLD :)

Did you find a much better price than that on their website?

Only tested this with MP 01.1.1 today but these are the results:
First init of the card about 6 seconds, after that channel changes are between 1 and 2 seconds.

Sometimes hard to find the time, but.... I work 3 weeks a month in a gas/oil exploration camp in central Australia. My wife records a lot of TV for me so I can carry it with me on my portable drive to watch in the little spare evening time I have at work.
