    You told us, we listened!

We have been very pleased with the response from the community to our Submit Patches forum. In fact, I would say it has been a huge success. So many thanks to all of you who have contributed, and helped make MediaPortal even better.

However, some of our contributors in other areas have pointed out that the same attention was not being given to submissions for EPG Grabbers and Tuning Details, Localization files for MP and the Deploy Tool, or Movie Info Grabbers.

They were right! Those contributions were being submitted in the General Forum under Jobs and Tasks. As a result they were often overlooked by our Developers and did not follow the same procedures as our code/patch submissions.

We have taken immediate action to rectify this. The Jobs and Tasks forum has been removed from the General Forums. New sub-forums have been added to the Development forum as follows:

All new sub-forums will now use the same prefixes (Pending/Approved/etc.) as the submit patches forums. Thus, Developers, contributors and users can all easily see which submissions are still pending. You are free to ask questions and request guidance in the General Development sub-forum, but once you make a submission, it should be entered in one of the 'submit' sub-forums for our Developers to review and implement it.

The "Re-Design MyTV - get involved" sub-forum has also been removed from the General Forums as this project is now part of MP 2 development.

I wish to assure all contributors that we appreciate your efforts and will make every effort to implement your submissions as quickly as possible.

Non code changes are also very important. Translations and EPG Grabbers/Tuning Details are key for getting MediaPortal accepted in many more countries. So please keep up the great work you all have been doing. I hope our new process will encourage even more participation from our community!

Thank you all, especially MP user VELIS for bringing this to our attention.

If you would like to know more about our process for handling submissions, stay tuned for Dadeo's upcoming Blog Interview with me about our MP Team and how it works.
