I have just heard from foxtel that they are bringing out a new stu in a couple of months!
This new one will be able to plug straight into the network (streaming media) and is also capable of producing pure digital output via coax or hdmi/dvi.
Not a lot of detail as yet, but will keep you posted.
Any chance of a plugin for it?

I have installed into one of our developments: 1 tv-engine (Dell Poweredge 2600 with 6 H/S SCSI 36GB HDD, dual Xeon 3GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, Dual Hauppauge X1110 MCE Tuners), and 9 media directors (HP d530u desktops with 5.1 sound and vga to Samsung LCD Panels up to 62inch.)
It works like a treat and also integrated bluetooth remote control into the solution! Very happy
