When I watch liveTV (both SD and HD) I get a lots of dropped frames and the picture a stuttering a lot.

Could this be a codec problem? Or a hardware problem?

I use the SAF 4.0 stable codec.

Micke

Seems ION and HD are not a good pair...

But I have the same problem with SD channels. When I look on a HD movie it's no problem, just when I watch TV.

    1. Does it happen when playing a .ts file from "My videos".
    2. Does it happen when playing same file but renamed to .mkv
This test will help us isolate the reason for frame drops.

    Hi dumbo79!

Plz try to change the core.dll from this thread. For me it solves my terrible problems with dropped frames.

    give it a try ;)

I tried to replace the core.dll, but I'm not really sure if it's make any difference. It's not possible to press Shift + 1. But it looks like before so I don't think it fix my problem.

Looks like a signal issue. Please upload a small recording that can be used to reproduce the dropped frames.

    Here are a short recording.

Are there any easy way to measure the signal quality? Some software?

Yes, within MP while watching liveTV (fullscreen) just press F9 and then choose "tuning-details".
You can also take a look in TVServer Config under manual control (press timeshift and all needed information is shown at the top of the window).

All needed information are shown. ;)

Unfortunately different BDA drivers provide different values (using different scales etc.) so those signal statistic don't show the real signal quality and you can only see if the quality gets better / worse after doing some change.
