Thanks for the release of 1.0.1 guys. Looking forward to having a play around. I have just done a fresh install of 1.0.1 with no added plugins, and default config settings. Upon running MP (standard Blue3 skin), I have found the menu navigation very stop/start. I have timed it, and it seems to freeze for approx 4sec every 11sec. All I am doing is scrolling right/left through the Basic Home screen. I imagine this is a hardware related issue as nobody else seems to have encountered this problem so far. I have attached my logs if they help.

Any ideas on any steps I can take to troubleshoot this issue further?

I've been using MP (1.0.0) with Streamed MP skin for a few months now, and I love it! Infact, MP was the sole reason I bought a new 42" HD TV! I find this forum really helpful, and I think my friends are fed up of me telling them how cool this app is. I'm thinking of investing in a nice HTPC case and beefy hardware, but I'm running it on a HP DC7700 I've 'borrowed' from work until the bank balance allows more spending! :p

Any help gratefully received.

This also occurs in MP Configuration (i.e. freezing for a few seconds every 11 secs). Has any one any idea what could be causing this? In Task Mgr, there is no other process that is eating all the mem/cpu, and the PC isn't being particularly overworked (I've turned off all the fancy Vista visual enhancements). I'm clueless!

By the way, video playback thru MP seems smooth enough, so at least I can watch Lost without losing my mind! :)

Pretty sure that 1GB of RAM is not enough for Vista and your rig is swapping memory to disk.

Maybe. But this never happened in 1.0.0. Is 1.0.1 that much more memory intensive? I will try plugging in a 2GB flash drive and use Windows ReadyBoost to see if that improves things.

    :D for you reply.

And there is big difference between having 2GB Ram or using Vista Ready Boost. Since it run fine before it might not be the ram, but i would recommend 2GB ram too.

I have XP Pro with 2GB mem - same thing here :(
Sorted with the TV server config (it starts the DB and the service :) )

Thanks rekenaar for pointing me in the right direction. It just needed the SQL password in TV Config. I never would of thought to set that! Everything is running really smooth now, even with just 1GB of RAM

Have Exactly same problem with a Totally new computer with a fresh Windows XP SP3 installation and Mediaportal 1.0.1 ( Only thing installed is Mediaportal)

If you do a complete installation without setting password on TV-part, then the menu constantly freezees up for a about 2 secs every 10-12 secs.

    UPDATE:
Did not concentrate on the TV part, because it is the lowest priority at the moment......but got it fixed, when typing in Password for SQL 2005.

    Remember to restart afterwards!

This must definitely be a bug/misbehaveour

May i suggest to put in the TV-server password as a preset?

9 out of 10 probably has the default password anyway.

Instead preset the password, and just let the user change it afterwards.

The problem is not the password - it's the not yet running tv service.
