Freezing/Stutering on recordings only (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I have been using MediaPortal for a few months now and everything has worked very well up untill this week. I can watch LiveTv no problem, I have recorder shows - no problem.
I set up MP to record a program on a daily basis. when I go back to watch it, it freezes every 1 or 2 seconds. I had initially set the recording quality to High, but after first recording, I went back and changed all scheduled recordings to default. Recoded one more episode, but same problem.
I can still watch single recordings that I made last week (different show/channel)without any freezing.
What gives?
