well, I have the exact same problem here. I'm using the S-Video input of my VIVO card displayed on a 16:9 HDTV rear projector (resolution of 1168x664)

Only workaround I found is to start MP in windowed mode and then switch in full screen. But that's not cool.

I can confirm the problem still exists, except with a twist - I use a radeon 9550 card, not NVidia.

I have tried this on two seperate machines, both with the same model card, both before and after a fresh install of v0.2, and tested again after the v0.2.3 update on both machines.

I also tried a couple of different Radeon driver sets, which also made no difference.

I can also confirm that the "fix" (if you can call it that) is to change windows default font size back to normal. I had mine set to 140% or 134 DPI. Viewing the fullscreen video on "Original" aspect ratio also works regardless of the font size, but viewing vids like this is far from ideal.

Furthermore, the fullscreen video WAS displaying normally after a v0.2RC2 upgrade to v0.2.
It was only after I was forced to uninstall and reinstall MP to clear out any older CVS/SVN's that the problem presented.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a major bug. I'll have a look around MANTIS to see if it's already been logged, but this is quite a bad problem

    Synopsis::

When launching videos in full-screen mode, the screen stays black and does not show any picture. The video's audio is heard playing, and the right-click context menu displays, but no video.

I have also tested this with two skins - Razor and BlueTwo. Both exhibit the same problem.

I have also tested this with different aspect ratios - 1280x720 and 1024x768. Again, both have the problem.

As far as I can tell, this bug does not exist in MANTIS.

    Regards,
    Tim.

    same problem

I've also reported this problem: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=17569

I thought I had some configuration issue but since various folks are reporting this problem, it must be a bug. I guess I'll wait for the next version of MP to play videos/dvd's...

Also, I've tried setting MP to use PowerDVD as an external player, and MP does launch Powerdvd, but the video never plays...

I have that problem too, tried various codecs (ffmpeg, dscaler, gabest's supplied codec, nvidia purevideo, powerdvd, ati avivo) all the same.

I don't have a chance to play with it now, but I (also) have my default windows font size (DPI in graphic settings) changed lately to somewhere around 130%. Since someone else in this thread said something about it, maybe that's the issue?

    Gonna try it later on

Yeah, changing the fonts should fix it. Thats not a good enough fix for me though, if I change the fonts back, its impossible to read anything.
