When I start up MediaPortal the fullscrren lists what is going on like Plugins Loading ect ... BUT when it all loads the full screen turn into a small 1/6th of full screen. It cannot be made larger and no control exist to exit.

What am I doing wrong .. I have since upgraded all the way up to 1.1 and with disaster 1.05.25 .. same result. (but it did work the first time .. but then it reverts back to the 1/6th screen)

Is Media Portal or my audiovideo casrd ,, at Radeon hd4550 ?

That's a new one on me , have heard of video resizing when playing, but not the GUI, hopefully a ATI owner may have a clue.

    :sorry:

So how would I explain this GUI problem to an ATI techie so that he would know not to blame MediaPortal ?

Would have thought someone would possibly have chipped in with a answer, as the commonest gpu used are ATI, there must be something graphic driver or Catalyst control centre setting that could be causing this, just do not know which.

There is only one setting in MP config that can alter size and that is under general\skins Autosize window mode to skin dimensions, personally found this annoying.

ps what happens if you hit alt-enter whilst MP loaded and focused.

Using the Alt-Enter (or opening with in windows) the GUI now expands to the point where the task bar begins. The annoy part is that the windows desktop screen saver is still visible under the skin where the task bar was.

    Thanks for you help Ray.

I tried playing around with the MP screen calibration and UI but no fix.

    Not related to GUI size

This has to be a directx or driver problem, geov would have paid more attention than me to ATI related posts, so neither of us has seen anything relating to this issue, although this can be quite common for video codecs to output small screen, that is no way related to the GUI not completely filling the windows desktop.

I would reinstall directx and maybe try a slightly older driver possibly 9.8, after that I'm totally out of ideas.

ps. MP1.0RC2 is not that far away, so maybe give that a try when its available.
