Hi,

I'm brand new to Media Portal, although I have been running MCE with the above setup for 18 months or so. The TV server in mp has really caught my attention so I thought I'd give it a bash.

I have installed and configured all the necessary bits & pieces, however when I attempt to scan for chanels in the TV Server, the scan is completed nearly instantly without having found any chanels.

Things work great in the standard mp configuration, just not in the server.

I have attached some logs. I think they are the right ones. Let me know if any others are required.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Phil

In addition to what I've said above, server is showing 4 tuners, 2 analog & 2 digital (should only be 2 digital). The digital tuners are also named differently in MP & the tv server. I have attached some screen shots showing how the tuners appear in each of the setups. I don't know if it's significant or not.

Thanks
Phil

I have mine working now. It's seems the problem was due to the fact that I was running the server on an mce system. I think mce was preventing the TVserver from accessing the tuners. I disabled all the media center services and the problem is fixed!:D

Thanks for the MCE Tip. Maybe this needs to go some where more prominent.
I've been searching these threads for why I can't (now couldn't) scan the channels on the server.

Thanks for the MCE tip. I killed all the services and hey presto I'm away.

Thanks
