I've just got myself a 32" Philips HDTV(yay!) in Windows the resolution is set to 1080p and looks great! however, none of my games are showing the HD resolutions, i managed to last night, but today they will only go to 1280x720(the tv shows a "Video Mode Not Supported" on this). I can't work out how to get games to run at high resolution . my Graphics card is an NVIDIA Geforce 6600 GTOC and i'm using DVI to connect the computer to my TV. In the NVIDIA Control panel, i have selected "Treat this display as a HDTV" and selected 1080p in the list, but to no avail in games. Please help, really frustrating.

Last night i managed to raise the resolution in those games to 1080, but now i can't. Windows is running at 1080p fine still.

All Philips 32" LCD TV's have a current resolution of 1366 x 768, this may be where the problem lies.

This is the link to confirm this, http://www.consumer.philips.com/con...?proxybuster=4DVNBTETPVQANJ0RMRCSHP3HKFSESI5P

If you cannot find this setting, try adding it useing the old nvidia control panel, you should find fonts much clearer.

Trying to run at a higher resolution than that supported by your TV, will cause some blur\sharpness defect, might not be noticeable in windows, but games it will.

You need to set it from inside the game settings themself. It has nothing to do with you desktop resolution.

Plus the game itself has to support a resolution of 1920 × 1080 any how, to get the 1080p your after.

The games do support 1080, i managed to get them to set to 1080 on my Philips TV and it looked fantastic, then the next day they wouldn't go very high, 1024x768. And the NVIDIA control panel shows no resolutions to set the windows desktop, when "hide resolutions this monitor doesn't support" is unchecked. or whatever the setting is lol. I contacted NVIDIA and they told me to roll back the display driver, i'll try that when i get back from my holiday. :)
