Getting an Hitachi VFD Display to work with MediaPortal (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

I just discovered MediaPortal and tried it out. And loved it!

Just one problem though, on my newly bought HTPC-case there is a VFD-display which works fine with the built-in media thingy in Windows XP MCE.

The question I have is: can I get the VFD to work with MediaPortal?

The info I received from Ahanix, the manufacturer of the case is this:

When I installed the driver for the VFD it said that it was an Hitatchi Display.

I truly hope you can help me.

Well, you didn't state which Ahanix case you have....
I have though the MCE601, and that driver page looks similar.., so try using the Hd44780 thingy in external display, 2 lines x 16 colums, and don't forget to set the parallel port to EPP from the Bios..

Sorry about that, but I also got the MCE601.

Could you describe the setup in detail, please? I've never installed a VFD before...
