Getting my remote to work (1 Viewer)

Hi

I´m having trouble to get my remote to work with media portal.
I want to use the remote that came with my tv card Asus TV-FM 7135 and it worked well with the Power TV ( i think that was the program that the remote was made to work with). The remote comes with a receiver(IR) that connects ta a USB port. When i connect the receciver to the USB my computer installs the drivers automaticly and then i try it and can only get these functions to work on the remote:
- Sleep button - Makes windows go to sleep mode
- Volume button - Controls the the volume of the PC soundcard
- Arrow buttons - Acts just like the keyboard arrows buttons
- OK button - Acts just like the ENTER key being pressed
- Mute button - Mutes all sound of the PC soundcard

All these buttons that i mentioned work with media portal but i want to be able to use the other buttons that my remote have like going back to the previous menu, changing screen aspect, turn on subtitles and much more.

Is there anyway to do this? I dont really understand how to do the mapping in the configuration of the remote.
Is there any other program that lets me configure my other buttons on my remote?

IRServer suite should do the trick.

Just a thought, what is the remote installed as, ie HID, under device manager.

Yes it is installed as a HID device.
I didnt understand exactly what you said in your post. Do i need any software besides the media portal?

IRserver suite is a program or rather a service developed by and-81 that makes most controllers work with MP.. Search the forum for it =)

Mike69: YEs! Thats exactly my remote. I just plug in the USB receiver but then not all fnctions work.

I have the same Remote as sushyoshi, (XPC-RC01). Iwe tryed to setup the IRserver suite but tbh i dont get it, not at all. I really like mediaportal and with this remote working it would be awsome. If anyone know how to setup IRserver suit for this controller, please post a small how-to

the best way is to use the keyboard plugin

Iwe managed to learn the codes from the remote using KeyboardInputPlugin. However, to tune in the buttons is pretty hard. Seems im not that god of binding them.
