im about to build a server with mediaporta.
im going to distribute media to a htpc to tv.
question...what typ of grafficcard do you recommend for the server? not to expensiv.. i know you have to have pure video hd or equivalant.

Just buy a Radeon HD 5xxx series card and you should be fine. They are cheap too, not more than €50. I have an ASUS Radeon HD5550 and it's playing all my files flawlessly (even vector adaptive deinterlacing).

Don't get too excited by buying yourself a HD 6xxx or HD 58xx card. Even HD 57xx is too much if you are just throwing media files at it. Too expensive and they draw too much energy. Instead, look for a nice passive GPU and if possible low-profile card.
