Started on: 2007-05-28 last update: 2007-05-28 Summary: Suggestion for improvement: Change the graphical dialogue box for adding/changing channels to include or allow setup from multi-tuner setups. Description: To allow MediaPortal to set unified channels over multiple tuners. The TV Channel list could have a checkboxoption for unified vs. unique channel numbers per tuner. See SuggestionTV.PNG The Edit Channel could have an option for input of these unique numbers, or an checkbox for unified tuning. See SuggestionEdit.PNG Background: I have a setup with a Hauppauge PVR-500MCE card with dual integrated analogue tuners. They are connected through ground cable, and I have about 27 channels at my disposal. If I would add channels directly (not searching for them), they would not get correctly mapped to the tuners (not mapped at all) and I cannot seem to connect them (not to be mistaken by the function "Map Channel to Tuner", which does not seem to do this). There seem to be inconsistensies with what MediaPortal defines as channel number and what the tuners are using as channel numbers (See TVChannels.PNG) - there are three boxes called Details. The first is possible to change through the "Edit Channel" function - the other two are not. Yet it seems that it is these two values that are cruical for the tuners. The only way I can add channels correctly is to autosearch for channels on both tuners. After completing the search I can go to Channels only to see that some channels are not connected to one tuner, while other channels are not connected to the other tuner. Some channels are even misconfigured with different channel numbers after autosearching for them, and I cannot seem to correct this (since I only have one antenna plugged in my dual-tuner, the channel numbers really should be identical). (See TVChannels.PNG) If I open the channel for editing, I can change the channel number. But I cannot correct the different numbering between the two tuners. (See EditChannel.PNG) Let me know if I should try to explain a bit broader. I am not a programmer, so I do not know how to put things, but I tried with the added attachments. I find it strange that dual-tuner-users havent seen the need for this earlier - but perhaps it is my reception or dual-tuner that is bad. I cannot seem to recreate this using DScaler standalone. Thank you for reading my post.
