Hope somebody can help me here:confused:

Does anybody have any expirence with TV out with diff. Graphics card ?

I am now runnung the ASUS M2N-WM-DH with Nvidia 6100, i have a Hauppuage PVR500 mce and a Floppy DTV-C. Not to happy with the PVR500 and dark parts in film with the Floppy DTV get strange colors.
I use Nvidia decoder and been spending hours with Hauppuage Tweakertools.

My Processor: AMD 64x2 dualcore 3800+
Xplotion soundcard via Teak suround reciver.
I run DVI to a Samsung plasma.

Was wonder if it would be better with a PCI-E graphics card an dont use the one i have in the M/B?

Any recomandations for a card?

Best regards

I use my onoard nvidia 6150. As you can see on nvidias homepage this card is superior to the 6100 and much more suitable for HTPC. For me it works just fine. Combined with a AMD64 3500+ Am2 I can play Apples 1080p h.264 trailers (altough the cpu is almost maxed out then).

Anyway, until there are real HDTV/MPEG4 cards with HW-accelerated decoding of h.264 this will do just fine. But then again, I only use it for TV/VIDEO, no gaming.

The mobo is a AM2 and therefore it has a faster FSB and PCI-E. Works great for me, best part is that it does not need cooling as the really high-end cards of today. And as it does everything I could ever want today it is perfect.

As you have a nice CPU I would stongly recommend you to buy the CoreAVC codec, check out www.corecodec.com
