So I've searched and looked around the forums and tried everything, but I still can't get this to work.
I think this is the first time I've had an issue with MediaPortal. I have other .mkv files that play fine. I have Watchmen in mp4 format that is a x264 core and it runs just fine.

Here's what I have:
MediaPortal 1.0.2.0

Codecs Installed
Klite Mega Codec Pack
CCCP
I also did some updating trying to get this movie to work...
CoreAVC: 1.2.0.0
FFDShow Audio/Video: 1.0.7.3013
Installed VSfilter_20070918

Pulled this info from MediaInfo v.0.7.10
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (H.264, DTS Audio, w/Subs)
File Extension: .MKV
File Size: 6.55 GB
Video Codec ID: V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC
Audio Codec ID: A_DTS
Text Codec ID: S_TEXT/ASS

Based on another thread about getting H.264 .mkv files to work (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/tutorial-playing-mkv-files-33662/) I've tried every combination of Video/Audio Settings in MP (CoreAVS, FFDShow, RealAudio, etc.) including turning FFDShow Post Processing On/Off and Autoload VSFilter On/Off in Haali for every combination. If I open the file outside of MP, it runs in MPC just fine (looks AWESOME!!). Originally when I would try to open the file in MP I got the error "Could not open File. Video: H.264 Audio: DTS", Updated CoreAVC, FFDShow, VSFilter and now when I try and open the file in MP, from the Video list it freezes (like it is trying to load: HDD light starts flashing, can't move up or down list, scrolling text stops) and then...nothing, I stay on the Video list. I regain control, scrolling text starts up again.

In short, I think I've tried everything short of wiping and reinstalling Codecs and MP. Here are my questions:
Is it the file size?
Anyone have any suggestions?
Something that worked for them?
Should I scrap MP and codecs and start anew?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Wow, am I the only one trying to watch H.264 .mkvs?

If there is anyone out there that watches H.264 .mkvs over 6gb, please let me know what settings worked for you.

Much appreciated!
