Hi there

Firstly, a big thanks :D to all the developers creating such an amazing piece of software.

Yesterday I upgraded from MP1.2.0. ALPHA to 1.2.0 BETA, everything so far works very well, except I am getting an error when trying to play any H264 files ("Unable to play...Video Codec: AVC, Audio Codec: AAC Version 4 LC" - as per attached screenshot). :(

I have tried to set video codecs in MP configuration to, PDVD 10 codec, MS DTD, ffdshow but I am getting the same error. I also upgraded CoreAVC from 1.9.5 to 2.5.5.0, with the same result.

The files play fine in WMP11, they all have .mov extentions.

Logs are attached.

Please advise.

Neil

    Hi Neil

I just wanted to take the time to say *thank you* for reporting this issue. Your description is clear; your system specification is complete; the logs are concise - a perfect report. :D

I'm looking at the issue now...

    Thanks MM

One thing missing from my system specs is that Win 7 has SP1 installed and all latest updates, I will update my specs accordingly.

    Regards

    Neil

    Hi MM

I have done a fresh install of MP1.2.0. BETA, uninstalled the AVC Codec, Haali Media Splitter, Kodec mega pack, but the error as in the initial report persists (exact same arror as the problem report's screendump).

When playing the same files in WMP11, it still works fine with the above mentioned codecs removed.

Hope this helps to resolve my issue.

    Thanks

    Neil

    Hi Neil

My apologies for the delayed response. :sorry:
This issue has me stumped. I have one thing I'd like you to try though - what happens if you change the extension from .mov to .mp4 and then try to play the file?

can you download Graphstudio and attempt to render the file there (just choose render media file from menu and point it at one of these files)
can you post a screenshot of what that shows

    Hi MM

As per your suggestion, I renamed the extention of 1 of the .mov's to .mp4, now the video plays fine.

As per Jameson's suggestion, I will download and have a look at the Graphstudio suggestion and post the results,

Thanks for the assistance thus far.

    Regards

    Neil

    Hi All

I would like to report that after installing SAF6 my issue has been resolved, I can now playback H264 streams in MP.

The status of this report can be changed to "fixed" :)

    Regards

    Neil

I have the same problem, and SAF 6.00 was no solution.

I try to watch recorded Videofiles from ZDF HD. No Audio and Video...

Could you please try to use the FFDShow audio codec instead of the LAV one, and use the Monogram codec for AAC audio.
