The tuner receives the mux group on one physical channel. The software then de-muxes (splits) the 1 physical channel into the 5 or 6 or whatever virtual channels. These can all be watched concurrently using the same tuner. Clearly using 1 tuner you cannot watch channels from different mux groups because each mux group requires the tuner to process a different physical channel.</blockquote>
