hauppage RC6 remote with mediaportal 1.1.0 (1 Viewer)

I have Vista sp 1 with media portal 1.1.0 installed
with streamedMP skin
I have a hauppage RC6 remote and IR receiver

which shows up under
Vista Device manager as the following
it shows up as a Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver... under Human interface devices

and under Keyboards....
Microsoft eHome MCIR 109 keyboard
and Microsoft eHome MCIR Keyboard
and Microsoft eHome Remote Control Keyboard keys

and under Universal Serial Bus controllers
as eHome Infrared Receiver(USBCIR)

I dont have any digital tuners installed
..just using Mediaportal as a media player

The remote causes the IR receiver to blink its red light when I hit any remote button

I have tried setting it to microsoft remote under media portal configuration
I assume you just tick the box under set-up
..or do you have to do mapping

but it doesnt seem to work when I launch media portal 1.1.0
can anyone help ??
or give some pointers to get it working in Media portal 1.1.0??

Just reloaded some IR32 drivers and reset to microsoft remote under Media portal config
...and its now working.
All the keys are working!

Plus I have a XBOX 360 remote(white)
..and its basically now working with this ir receiver as well
...and its backliight

So still need to do some tweaking of various keys
and of course work out how they all relate to Media portal
But its a big leap

...a long weekend ahead I think
