I hope above gives enough information. i noticed the card listed in the supported list. I have not had any luck finding win7 64 bit drivers for that tv card so i installed xp pro (only 1 set of drivers from hauppage and work with it) as you can see when i go to the server config screen i see this:

i try to scan for channels and get the blue bar fill but no signal. if i choose austria, germany or slovenkia (only other options than sap) some channels it seems to get a signal but it fails.

yet if i use the original software wintv200 it works fine:

any help getting this software working with this card would be greatly appreciated. If it's impossible please remove the card from the list of supported hardware. Yes i ran that patch after the installation.

I can't see your graphic in detail. Can you verify it uploaded ok?
I run a similar config and have 2 of the 1600 cards which scan fine.

Which patch did you run after the install? I don't recall using any.
Have you tried running the analog and digital scan? This card card contains 2 independent tuners each with its own dedicated Coax input.
Not sure if your provider is supplying both of analogue and digital channels (like mine) or if you are lucky and get only digital? Presumably you get both as you have this dual card.
I have to manually select the correct scan type for my digital CONCOST signal (e.g. cable TV, QAM standard). Note that the default QAM type needs to be change to QAM standard in USA.
Are you using a CableTV QAM signal or OTA ATSC signal (over the air)? Obviously select Cable if you use cable.

update i had tried to make a hybird card and instead the iptv card disappeared. the hauppage tv card never showed up in the list of cards. i have no visible way of manually adding one or making the tv server options detect one. Yet i'm capable of watching tv using the win2000 software : /

how do i do what you mean here:

i see no options allowing me to do this now. and i have cable.

hrmm seems maybe i don't have a 1600 as haupage says i do. in device manager does the driver show up as: Hauppage wintv 878/9 vfw video driver (audio driver also) ?

Do not set it up as a hybrid card.
Hybrid is only for cards that have 2 ports and 1 shared tuner. The older 1600 cards probably were hybrid.
The newer 1600 cards are not hybrid tuner they are the dual tuner which is much better.
Hence the new 1600s should show up like separate cards. No need to config hybrid.
If you only have 2 coax connectors then you should have the newer one. I think the older 1600s have 3 coax connectors.

When you install media portal it should show 3 tuners for the 1600 instead of just the 1 IP tuner you have.

-IP tuner
-BDA tuner
-Analog tuner.

You do not need to configure anything with the cards - just go straight to do a scan on the BDA (digital) and the Analog.
Ignore the IP tuner.
Go to the scan on the BDA (digital) tuner and you will see the QAM type drop down.
Then do your analogue.

If you are not sure about your Windows Driver then download the latest from Hauppig :)
Support for WinTV-HVR-1600
Click the driver which is the second download button at the bottom of the page.

With your hardware MP should work with the default install, as it does with mine.
You might want to re-install MP to remove any configs you did.

Ok i did some rooting arround on their website again. seems maybe my card isn't a 1600. well it says it is then later on it says it isn't

Hauppauge Computer Works : Support

left card (this is an older card)

878 based boards have the following Model numbers:
61xxx

is what i have. unfortunaltey the drivers on that page do not work in windows xp. i have to download different drivers from their site here: Hauppauge Computer Works : Support

any chance anyone get this card working with this software? (or know of software/drivers that allow it to work in windows 7? (then i could just pull the card out of that pc and move it to my main rig.

Oh man that looks old. Sorry no experience of that card.
I would want to open up the PC and verify your TV cards model number.
The closest thing I have is an older Haupig 1300 (analogue only) that I connect to a VCR to convert old video tapes.
If it's junk then I recommend a TV card upgrade.
I bought a used 1600 at e'flea'Bay.
Surely you want HD and you will only get that with a newer card?

Yea it's an old card. i guess i'll have to get a new one instead. I had it set on channel 3 and put my comcast cisco rng 100 plugged into it to get the digital channels. Was trying to find a way of being able to get fullscreen without having to set my resolution to the lowest possible.
