Hauppauge 1300MCE TV Issues on WinXPsp2 (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I'm really hoping someone can help me. I'm a bit of a novice with all of this but am quickly learning!!

I have recently installed MediaPortal onto a dedicated machine. It works absolutely fine and is great for all my movies etc. I then decided to go to the next level and bought myself a TV card. After a bit of research (mainly on this forum), I went for the Hauppage 1300 MCE (with remote). Last night I installed it onto my system and all appeared to be going well until i tried to watch TV. (the hardware installed fine using the drivers supplied on the CD and I was able to do a channel search in MediaPortal which picked up all the channels i was expecting). Problem is, I can't view any of them and my Program Guide isn't populating.

As i said, I'm a bit of a novice at all of this so if someone can take the time to explain how I can install this correctly and get it working (in some sort of step by step guide) I'd be very greatful (mainly because I think the other half will kick my proverbial if i spend another night trying to figure it out!!).

PS which logs do i need to put on here??

It's a good idea to create a system spec in your profile. If you have one, there is a template which should automatically include the info in posts to the support sections. As for logs, I always just zip up the whole log directory. It's only textg, so it doesn't take much space. Anybody who's interested in looking can justg pick out what they think might be significant. I am facing similar problems and will let you know if I make any progress.

I have bought the Hauppauge 1300 with Remote last week, too. I had also problems as i can remember. Just get the latest drivers here: I didn't need to remove the drivers shipped with the cd. It will update the old fine...

Sorry, I forgot to update here. It turns out that my problem was due to running MP from an account with "Power user" instead of "Administrator" privileges. "Power user" is enough for music functions, but not enough fo TV.
I can only second slobi's advice above: I have also had good experience with the new Hauppauge drivers, even though they aren't sanctioned for my Scaleo E by FSC.
