Hi,

I have an haupauge 45 remote which most of the time is working fine but from time to time gets mad:
button for volume increase or decrease will change TV chanel
other button will start TV recording
etc...
Actions seems random

Any idea on whats going on ?

edit the hauppauge.xml and remove all the sections pertaining to the other haup remotes this seems to improve stability no end on my remote/system, actually i have one here but its from rc1.0, should still do the job..
actually heres a copy of mine, make sure you put it in the right spot (\docs&settings\allusers\appdata\teammediaportal\device mappings)

also depending on the model of haup card on xp u might want to consider doing the usb fix ;)

I have again this issue of erratic remote operation on MePo but with a new HTPC with this remote supposed to work out of the box:mad:

MePo 1.2.1
OS: W7 x64 family
CPU: I3-2100 with 4Go DDR3
SSD 64Go Crucial 300
HDD 1.5To 5400
MoBo ASUS P8H67 - M PRO
Tuner : HAUPPAUGE TD 500 type 8400
remote: Hauppauge 45
Graphic adaptor: HD6570 1Go
driver: catalyst 11.4

I used the default settings, then I increased the filtering in MePo configuration but no evident effect. Any button can trig randomly unexpected actions in MePo

Is this definitively not possible to get this remote working properly ?

What are the possible and simple work-arround (eventghost, LIRC ....) ?

thx

i no longer have this card but fwir the issues appear to stem from its onboard usb chip , perhaps if u can find alternate drivers for it or possibly find some workaround for what appear to be conflicts between it and other usb controllers.

I tried my remote with WMC and it seems more stable with WMC than with MePo...

So the MePo remote interface may have some bugs or not correctly installed on my HTPC.

Have you enabled reinit card after standby and set a delay of say 20 before this happens, as mdbarber says its the onboard usb controller that gives grief usually.

    MCE does this by default.

Yes, i selected restart tuner after standby in powerscheduler and allready set 4s delay before tuner use as recommended in the TV server setup.:(
