Hi, Sorry me agian. I downloaded the software mpeg decoder form the Hauppague web site. The trouble is when I run it all does is come up with a blue install screen and thats it, no next buttons of dialog windows. Is there a enough way of getting a decoder then this one. Hope you can help, starting to do my head in now as I can`t get the thing to work right. All the rest of MP works so very well, what a great of bit of software.

I have just installed the drivers from that web site you surgested also and re-run the encoder, but it still don`t reconise or support my card. it was unable to say which it was, ie unsupported or reconized.

    Hi,

well, sorry to say that, but now I am at the end of my wisdom. Thats the reason why I also recommend hardware encoding capture cards.... :p

Did you read the comments in the WiKi page?
Step 4)Install the MainConcept MCE encoder from the above link also go to http://www.pvrwire.com/2006/12/25/using-an-old-hauppauge-wintv-878-tuner-card-for-a-pc-pvr/ for additional instructions FOLLOW THEM TO THE LETTER! (IE: Only extract the Mceesmpeg.ax file)
Step 5) You only NEED to register Mceesmpeg.ax as instructed. DO NOT install the other files as they may corrupt your WinTV card

    Perhaps this helps...

    Flip.

    Sorted ish

I tried that and followed it to the letter. It kind of made it work , the only trouble is that the picture jumps about a bit and there is a few lines going across the screen. I guess this is to do with the settings in the config. Trouble is I am not too sure what to change. I am using an extenal freefiew box so have set up a channel as cvbs1 i think it was to grab the feed from the s-video in put jack. I am sure it is not the card as it works fine when i use it with the wintv32.exe or wintv2000 programs. So not too sure about this one. At least it is a step in the right direction. Thanks again for all you time and trouble.
