Hi

I managed to buy a Hauppauge HVR-2200 tuner card. The computer tech installed the card and drivers. Do you know of any instructions on how to use the card and remote control using Media Portal? I am using Windows XP Home that does not have Windows Media Center.

Your help would be appreciated
Regards Richard.

Hi

Thank you for your letter.

I assume that Windows XP Home addition does not have the recommended decoders (described at https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/newcomers-forum-240/mediaportal-install-guide-49685/ ) already installed and that I should install them first. Is that so?

I assume that Media Portal would enable me to do the below with the Hauppauge HVR-2200 tuner card on my operating system. Is that so?
I want to record two separate TV programs at the same time and play back one while recording the other. I also want time shift where I can play back a program from the start when it is still being recorded. I want to be able to fast forward and rewind with the remote control at different speeds depending on how far I want to go back or forward. I want to be able to see the images flashing past on the screen when I fast forward or rewind. I would like to also schedule recordings at programmed times.

Your help is appreciated,
Regards Richard.

All of the above can be done using mediaportal and hvr2200 in XP Home edition.

Decoders can be installed before OR after MP, it doesn't really matter.
(I assume by decoders you mean video codecs)

Probably is referring to that but you can actually install codecs after MP if you wish, it doesn't make any difference for me. However i think before is probably better. What kind of video card do you own?
