A freind of mine has the 1300 and has had no issues with it, never played with the Pinnacle so can't comment on that one.

I know that some of the team-members are using HVR-1300. This is a) indication of quality and b) guarantee for compatibility - now and in the future.

Hi, I'm using the HVR-1300 (got it almost an year ago) and I'm really satisfied. It's fully supported, both the analog and the DVB-T part.

Don't know about Pinnacle Hybrid; I used Pinnacle PCTVpro (only analog) and it was a pain in the [..]. Audio and Video out of sync (using the included pinnacle tv software), no support, no info on web site, a lot of users with the same problem of mine, moaning and moaning. Switching to HVR-1300 was the Solution.

    This device looks good.

There is an MCE version of it : Hauppauge HVR1300 MCE, with a Microsoft remote, to work on XP MCE and Vista, they don't talk about XP.
Do you think it will work ok too on a simple XP version ?

    ...

    Agreed 100%

Works fine both with MP and MCE.

And if you buy MCE version of 1300 you get also a MCE remote and IR receiver ... that works 120% with MediaPortal ... never had any issue with remote.

    A toi la choisie .....

Hi, HVR-1300 MCE works in WinXP too. I'm using Win XP Pro SP2, HVR-1300 MCE and, of course, MediaPortal.

It's the same hardware than HVR-1300, but it is packaged with an MCE remote, and without the hauppauge WinTV software, only drivers. This is the reason of the "MCE" in the name, it needs Windows MediaCenter or similar program able to use a tuner card to work.

If you are going to buy HVR-1300, I'll suggest the MCE version. You'll get a brand new MCE remote, and no useless hauppauge TV software ;)

I also have never used a set-top box with MP, but I think that you need to use an IR emitter (aka "IR blaster"). The IRSS software controls the emitter, and transmits IR signals under the direction of MP. The IR signal is received by the IR receiver within the set-top box, and so can be used to change channel and so on. The set-top...

MP1 MP2 No TV Service DE
Looking at recent activity on the web site, it has been 4 weeks since any of the MP2 developers have been active. They may be taking a short (or an extended) break. For this reason I would suggest that you uninstall MP2 and re-install MP1. The 1.33 version is recommended (in either the 32-bit or 64-bit version). Also, it is pretty...
