I don't think so, but I'm bumping this thread because I've been trying to work out if it's possible to do the same thing with a HVR3000.
I suspect it can't be done though (because you need a USB-based IR receiver to wake the computer), unless anybody knows differently of course...

I've been running MediaPortal on my PC for several years, but the most recent update "MediaPortal 1.38 Release " does...
The only configuration that is certain to work is when the MP client and MP server are from the same release.
It is sometimes possible to use MP clients from a release that is different to the MP server, but whether it works depends on the specific changes that were made between the two releases.

I always have DVB subtitles enabled in "MP Config", but I actually switch on subtitles only for those films that have deafening sound effects and music, combined with inaudible dialogue. I have never noticed the problem that you have described, but I also use the EVR renderer, and not the Madvr renderer. So...
