I would really like to purchase this remote soon so I can use it with Mediaportal. If anyone knows I would really appreciate it if you could clarify that for me.

info says that it works under "Windows Vista Premium and Ultimate or Windows XP Media Center Edition", then it should be ok under mp.

    It works. :)

I have the remote included in the HVR-1300 MCE kit (it's the same, colored in silver); installed in Windows XP (now SP3, but worked on SP2 too) without problems: just plug the USB receiver (E-Home infrared receiver) and you're done :D

Remember to flag "MCE Remote" in MediaPortal Configuration.

    Enjoy :)

Should I flag the MCE remote or the Hauppauge one?

The MCE remote.. The remote is MCE compatible and certified (it has the green windows button), so you have to flag "MCE remote". Hauppauge remote is another one, shipped with old cards (mainly).

Just to know, how much does it cost? I bought it bundled with TV card, time ago.

So I have set up my remote as per MCE and it is working great.

    Just a quick question..

    1) How do I make it so when I click on the MCE button on the remote MediaPortal opens?
    2) How do I make it so MCE does not respond when I press buttons such as the "Live TV' button.

Well, the log doesn't show any problems. I can see correctly tuned channels in the log. It seems to me that the tuner works fine. Can you copy the created ts file(located in your timeshift folder) somewhere else while in channel preview and try to play it in VLC or MPC-HC? PS: You can also try to make short record

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

The reason I was thinking I needed more RAM is that TV now seems to be HiDef and so the files have grown. I edit the files before storing them, to reduce some size. It is finding that slower, I think. Or it could just be because I'm expecting more? The Baseboard manufacturer says ASUSTech Computer Inc; Baseboard product P7P55D-E...
