Having problems with AC3 volume (1 Viewer)

I rip my DVDs to xvids with AC3 suond & DTS if it has it, but the volume's too low.
I've tried AC3Filter & setting the preset to loud or raising the gain manually, Nvidia decoder, the default decoder, etc., but I still have to crank my amp.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this something I have to live with for now?

I haven't tried it yet, but I got this from freecodecs.com:

1. Copy DLL or AX files in system32 folder [C:\WINDOWS\system32 ]

2. Click on Start > Run...

• To install the files, type: regsvr32 filename.dll or regsvr32 filename.ax
• To uninstall the files, use: regsvr32 -u filename.dll or regsvr32 -u filename.ax

I also had a problem with AC3filter.. The option to normalize sound was turned on. After unselecting that everything went back to normal!

Also what the problem might be is the audio renderer. You should set that to "Default audio renderer"...

Ah right, forgot that codec doesnt have an installer. As mentioned above can be done to install it or double click on it and when it asks what to open it with, find regsvr32.exe
