Just got a HD Homerun yesterday and in my quick test setup on an alternative machine than the above listed using Windows 7 x86 and MP 1.1 with latest SVN the HD Homerun tuner (latest driver & firmware) shows up as being a DVB-T tuner.
I am able to manually scan the providers freq. (Yousee-DK clearview) 1 at a time and get the channels added and working.

Is this by design? or is it due to an error in the setup here?

I would certainly love to get this unit working and adding the HD HR to the main setup giving a total of 5 tuners. But am not sure if the "love" is strong enough for emulations.....

Could you check with Windows MCE if the card is shown as DVB-T? Could be that the BDA driver shows up ad DVB-T card.

    Hi

    Thanks for looking into this.

Im definitely no shark at WMC (been using MP since 0.1.1.0) but will try it out.

I think some kind of remapping is done via the HD Homerun setup app making the DVB-C signal appear as DVB-T to WMC.

When I try TV signal setup in WMC only scanning Antenna Digital returns any channels. Isnt that due to WMC only being able to use clearqam (ATSC?)...

Will try to eksperiment a bit more tomorrow but as of now the tuner reports itself as being T to WMC.

Funny thing is even when i via the HOmerun setup app sets it up for Mediaportal it still is able to tune previously scanned channels in wmc.

Is there a way to totally reset WMCs config?

I really hope we will be able to work something out to do an ordinary channel scan in TV server, and make this interesting tuner detect as DVB-C if possible.
The tuner unit seems pretty responsive at channel change and appearently also manages standby/wakeup without the infamous Nova-T "syndrom".
Would be nice to have a descent alternative for DEs lovely products (RIP)

    More details:
Did some short tests (was very late) on a Vista x86 SP2 install.

This time first tested a MP 1.0.2 setup.

Here the HD Homerun was detected correctly as being a DVB-C tuner. (or being in DVB-C mode since it do have both options)
Channel scan crashed TV service though.
Will make an export of TV channels from anotrher setup later today to see if its just the channel scan that makes 1.0.2 crash.

(The HD HOmerun is able to tune and show chammels in its native QuickTV app.)

Afterwards removed the 1.0.2 install completely and did a 1.1.0 beta with latest SVN and here the tuner again was detected as being DVB-T :(

So it do seem something is different in 1.1.0 vs 1.0.2

Please let me know if any procedure or log files might help out.

OK I made some progress on the testing....

    -----------------------------------------

OS Win7 Ultimate x86 (WMC feature turned off(

    -----------------------------------------
    Mediaportal:
    1.0.2

    HD Homerun:
    SW 2410 FW 2410

    TV server detects:
    DVB-C

    Details
Channel scan OK, no channel groups created

    ------------------------------------------
    Mediaportal:
    1.0.2

    HD Homerun:
    SW 2410 FW 1011

    TV server detects:
    DVB-C

    Details
Channel scan OK, no channel groups created

    -------------------------------------------
    Mediaportal:
    1.1.0 beta

    HD Homerun:
    SW 2410 FW 2410

    TV server detects:
    DVB-C

    Details
    Channel scan OK, Viewing OK.

    -------------------------------------------
    Mediaportal:
1.1.0 + SVN Latest and previous tested same results

    HD Homerun:
    SW 2410 FW 2410

    TV server detects:
    DVB-T

    Details
Channels scanned or manually as T can be viewed.
but has significantly slower channel change

So it does seem that the tuner detection gpt broke somewhere along the SVNs for the 1.1.0 release.

I hope this might help out.

If specific tests or anything else might help resolving it I´d be happt to work it out.

Shoukd this be posted as a bug report for 1.1.0 instead?

    Hi DMAN

Yes! That worked really well. Just popped dll into its place and detection was back to DVC-C again..

Just to make absolutely sure ( :) ) I then cleaned out everything, installing once again from scratch and adding the latest 24102 svn and then the dll. Succes :)

Excellent help, thank you very much.

I hope this also makes it into next svn, RC1 and so on...

Finally I can get to do some serious testing with the HD Homerun on my test rig and further on hopefully get it implemented on the main media alter as well.

After last nights great succes on the 1.1.0 beta this morning I managed to get the HD Homerun set up for a test on a cleaner Vista x86 SP2 with MP 1.0.2.
HD Homerun was detected correctly as the first Vista test but on this install was also able to scan an view channels without crashing the TV service.

Still it is the 1.1.0 setup og WIndows 7 which is the real interesting one.
Hopefully we´ll be able to run the final of that release before to long on our primetime media rigs. :)
