HI all,

I have an annoying problem that I can't seem to fix. Prior to MP, I ran my current configuration (Athlon XP 2400, ATI 9550 video card and 1GB RAM) via Media Center on Vista. I had no problems at all with HD content, it displayed beautifully.

Since I liked the functionality of MP better, I did a fresh install on MP 1.0.0.0 on my hardware using XP (with SP3). It runs great, but all HD content stutters annoyingly, except for SBS HD content. I have tried different codecs (i.e. Cyberlink, MPV, Leatek, DVICO), but all display the same issue.

I have no problem with refresh rates. I set the manual overide is dxdiag.exe to 50Hz and the display is cyrstal clear and sharp. I have moved my timeshift folder to another HD with no results.

Does anyone have any idea's at all?

Thanks in advance.

What is your CPU% when watching HD - particularly channel 10?

What version of PowerDVD are you using?

What ATI Radeon driver version are you using?

Do you have DxVA enabled in the CyberLink decoder?

You will definitely need to use DxVA with an ATI 9550 on 7, 9 and ABC HD to get smooth video.

I have experienced a similar problem in the past with stuttering or what I would call 'surging' where the picture runs fast then slow (audio is fine). I found that changing the "Video Renderer Setting" in "Direct Show Filter Contol" to the EVR option fixed this - try it out!

(you will need to be in the "Expert Mode" of MP configuration to see this menu option which is normally hidden).

    Good Luck
    Simon:)
