Hi,
I'm trying to make the switch from the built in MP tv support to the TvServer.
I get my EPG from an XMLTV file (the EPG is in Hebrew).
This worked great in MP, but using the XMLTV plugin in TvServer I get question marks instead of Hebrew characters (the question marks even appear during the TvSever setup instead of channel names).

I'm using tvengine3-04-22-2007--01-21h--Rev14282 and XP Pro SP2.
I've attached the xml file.

Erez.

I guess no Hebrew EPG support for now in the TvServer using XMLTV files.
Will there be a fix for this in upcoming versions?

Thanks,
Erez

Try http://www.tvxb.com/
I have managed to set up a working Hebrew EPG Guide using their by country ini files.
There are several ini files from several sources implementing HOT & YES chanels.

Thanks Arik,
Do you get Hebrew EPG under the TvServer and the XMLTV plugin that comes with it,
or you use the standart MP EPG and TV support?

Does someone know how to get TvServer support for Hebrew XML files (UTF-8 or Windows-1255 format) EPG?
I'm still getting question marks instead of Hebrew characters in my EPG.
The same file works perfect in the standard MP 'My TV' plugin.

Thanks,
Erez

I'm using the TvServer XMLTV plugin that comes with it.

I have noticed that question marks appear instead of Hebrew, if Hebrew is not set as the language to match for the non-Unicode programs at the Advanced tab at Regional and Language Options.

I've got hebrew set to match the language for non-unicode programs...
And I've tried using TVXB too. Still same problem.
I think I'll switch to Microsoft SQL Server instead of MYSQL and see what happens.

OK.
Problem Fixed!
I've switch to MS SQL server and now hebrew is OK!
Thanks for your help, Arik.
Also I would recommend you using MEGAEPG from here: http://pvr.co.il/
instead of TVXB. MEGAEPG is much better and faster.

Hello guys,

I seem to have the same problem you had, though I'm at MP1.0 RC2 + SVN. You solved the problem while you were running MP 0.2.3 I guess. Have any of you moved to MP1.0 RC2? Hebrew is OK with the EPG? Please see my other post : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/xmltv-137/hebrew-chars-not-imported-correctly-44149/. I've already tried all your suggestions in this thread but nothing helped.

I'd appreciate if any of you can help with this issue. I'm getting really desperate.

Thanks in advance
