Hi,

Got my HTPC yesterday and i managed to install MP fine, but once i added all of my movies to the local drive and ran moving picture only some of my library gets picked up in the movie importer, i only have 91 items in the movies folder but only 41 get picked up wierdly and i cant figure out why they all dont get added to the importer list for approval??

can anyone help please?

i am using media portal 1.1.2
Streamedmp skin this had the moving picture plug in 1.1.081153

i really dont understand why its not picking up the other films, which means if i ad films to that drive/folder then it will not get automatically updated?

if anyone knows the answer then please help, also if i have done something wrong on the forum i apologize in advance, first post!!

thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to the forum..

What kind of file extensions are we talking about here. Are the 50 movies that don't get picked up in another format that the ones that do?

    Hello.
Try to add less movies (>10) at a time. The importer seems to have problems if the count of new movies is too high. You have to restart the importer after the import is finished. Sometimes you have to "unignore all files" to catch some of them.

And I've encountered problems also with "movie series", if they all named the same way. e.g. I have to name "Scary Movie 1-4" like "Scary Movie" "Scary Movie II" "Scary Movie3" "Scary Movie 4" to have them all recognised correctly. If I name them "Scary Movie 1", "Scary Movie 2", "Scary Movie 3", "Scary Movie 4" there sometimes just two of them are showing up in MovPic, sometimes three or one. I couldn't reproduce how this happens but since I've named all my "Movie series" this way no more problems occur.

HI thanks for the responses guys, i think i managed to figure it out, i had the box ticked which auto groups everything in the same folder..

this means that in the folder : movies i have some subfolders and some movies named the same but with 1/2 on the end and also have individual movie files also.

    This has then grouped
all of the files in the sub folders - correct
grouped all of the files named the same - correct
grouped all individual files in the top level folder movies - incorrrect

i fixed this bty collapsing all of the grouping in importer and re grouping the files that should be grouped...

This worked perfectly and now all seems fine, excellent piece of software and i am astonished its free, more astonished that Microsoft are so lazy that they cant produce anything of this standard for themselves!!
