for the life of me i couldnt figure out what was going wrong, bttf1 was showing up as was bttf3 but for some reason bttf2 wasnt, it wasnt until i stumbled upon the properties for bttf1 that i was able to see where the problem was.

for some reason, bttf1 was a sort of playlist which also included bttf2 but not 3. i think that is why its not showing up as if i added bttf2 in its own path, it shows up.

how'd i stop part1 becoming a playlist of sorts?

im using these imdb id's:
1: Back to the Future (1985)
2: Back to the Future Part II (1989)
3: Back to the Future Part III (1990)

It must be detecting the two file as a two part single movie

ie Back to the future (1985) = Back to the future (1985) CD1.avi
ie Back to the future Part II (1989) = Back to the future (1985) CD2.avi

I suggest either renaming the movie files, or having the files in seperate directories.

If you want futher calirification you need to give us the full path and filename for each movie file.

eg. c:\movies\Back To the Future - Part 1.avi

all are in the same folder, they are called:

    M:\Back to the Future (1985).mkv
M:\Back to the Future Part II (1989).mkv
M:\Back to the Future Part III (1990).mkv

have tried renaming part 2 to bttf2.mkv and a corresponding mkv but it doesnt show up at all in the importer.

edit: fumbled across the fix somehow, clicked on part 1, then did "send to importer" and the importer has picked up both files as seperate, happy days!

    Try either

    M:\Back to the Future - One (1985).mkv
    M:\Back to the Future - Two (1989).mkv
    M:\Back to the Future - Three (1990).mkv

    (or)

    M:\Back to the Future (1985).mkv
M:\Back to the Future - Part Two (1989).mkv
M:\Back to the Future - Part Three (1990).mkv

    (or)

    You can use .nfo files

    M:\Back to the Future (1985).mkv
    M:\Back to the Future (1985).nfo

M:\Back to the Future Part II (1989).mkv
M:\Back to the Future Part II (1989).nfo

M:\Back to the Future Part III (1990).mkv
M:\Back to the Future Part III (1990).nfo

Each .nfo file should contain one line which is the imdb url.

Then if you delete + reimport the movies, moving pictures will probably use the .nfo file to identify each movie.

    ****

If that doesn't work you might need sub directories.

    eg.

M:\Back to the Future (1985)\Back to the Future (1985).mkv

M:\Back to the Future Part II (1989)\Back to the Future Part II (1989).mkv

M:\Back to the Future Part III (1990)\Back to the Future Part III (1990).mkv

thanks for your help but somehow i'd sorted it, i already tried the nfo route, and had tried moving to different folders too.
resending the file for import seemed to be the thing that did it (i think!)
