Hi,

Although I am fairly sure this is not an MP problem, any help in figuring out next steps for debugging would be appreciated.

Current symptom is that MP config hangs when trying to add the ATSC tuner from the HVR-1600. Need to use task manager to close it.

Background: I had the ATSC tuner on this card working with both the WinTV software and BeyondTV, but the NTSC tuner wouldn't work. Installed various software - GBPVR, GAM, MP, etc. trying to get it to work. Finally got NTSC to work, now ATSC doesn't.

Debugging steps I have already tried:

WinTV and BeyondTV both see the ATSC tuner, but report no channels found when scanning. As mentioned MP hangs when trying to access the ATSC tuner.

I swapped in an ATI HDTV Wonder, same symptom: NTSC works fine, ATSC either no channels found or a hang.

I swapped the HDTV antenna (although, remember that I had ATSC working fine with about a dozen channels, so I only swapped here to eliminate a variable)

I swapped the card to various PCI slots - no luck

I re-registered via "regsvr32" the various vista BDA components "mpeg2data.ax", etc

I reinstalled BDA drivers via clicking on BDA.inf and choosing "install"

At this point, I am out of things to try. My theory is that while installing and uninstalling all these 3rd party applications and codecs, I messed up something in the registry or corrupted (or prematurely removed) some necessary driver in the system.

Is there any kind of step-by-step troubleshooting guide for all of the various software linkages needed in the system to allow the ATSC card to function? I am aware of Graphedit, but not quite sure how to use it to debug this problem.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.
