I wonder how other people organize their music collection.

I have MP3s on my laptop, and I have some other MP3s on the MP box.. I also record web radio streams in that MP box..

But how to synchronise this stuff.. ?! A file sync'ing tool would do part of the job, but I am talking about music databases with genre, album names, etc..

I have no real solution, but maybe there is one.. In the end I am just copying around the files..

It even gets more complicated as I have computer in my car..

I dream about a tool to manage all this.. but dont know how..

What are you guys doing?

Please repost! The link got corrupted, cannot click it anymore.

I guess there must be solutions.
I used Itunes for a while. Winamp with its own database might be an interesting thing, but all of them lack the multiple computer thing.
They are all based on a central music database..

There needs to be something to check in/out music and to keep track of it on external devices. (Asuming that there will be no reorganization on the external device).

Got the idea?

 Sounds like you need your own SVN server!

You could also manually use something like rsync/rdist for Windows. :)

I lost the link  I'll take a look later... it's bound to be in my browser history somewhere.
