Thanks for ur help.

I looked at it and it pretty much has what I need, only thing is it doesn't seem to be able to receive High Def. I know its probably like a year b4 we see HD broadcasts in UK. I really dont want to start shopping for a tv card again. The bbc r having trials done, so it shouldn't be that long b4 we start broadcasts in HD of some sort.

Can u confirm if it is HD ready! If not........

I'll continue the search, hoprfully I will get one.

Just got my shiny new Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT Card ...

Media portal detects it and it works straight out the box. so much better than my old Leadtek DVB-T 2000 H card.

I am concerned about the reception with the 2400i. You who tried the card and liked it, are you using outdoor antennas or simple indoor antennas (passive/active?)

Has the reception been an issue or did it just work without any adjustment? How about HD channels, any difference reception wise?

I live about 7 km from the closest radio mast in an apartment (probably not more than one house blocking the view of the mast from my window) and I am trying to figure out if I can get (HD) reception at all with the 2400i and in that case if I need to buy an active antenna or if a passive will make do.

By the way, does the 2400i work well with the TVE3 tv engine or have you only tried it with the internal MP tv engine?

The alternative seems to be the DVB-T FloppyDTV, it has excellent mepo support and good reception from what I can conclude but it is more expensive, it only has one tuner, and I do not intend to use the CI connector... Still probably the "safer" choice.
