Help me tweak my HTPC to the limit. (1 Viewer)

So after som trys whit diffrent software im about to make an completly blowout of the harddrive , install WinXP again and of course Media portal.

First i mean whit this post is to tweak whit software and probaaly an reminder of what im going to install.

My hardware are know Athlon 1.2 ghz , 512 mb ram , 40 gb disc samsung , Geforce 6200 and of course the Happugage 150MC edtion includes an remote control.


So What should i install after WinXP is done?

- Drivers for the GPU.
- NET.Frame 1 and 2.0?

What more should i install to get fully out of MP?

Could you recommend some DVD playback software that is user friendly?

MPTray whats it that? = media Portal?

FFDshow alredy installed , Some tweaks i can make there?

codec packs are usually frowned upon aren't they?

what about RealAlternative and QuickTimeAlternative? That way you can play Real and QT files through Windows Media Player and hence MediaPortal

- Speed fan: make you computer shut up
- AVG-free: low mem/cpu usage, and now "fuzz" (Norton - BITE ME!)
- Tweak UI: tweak XP
- EasyCleaner: Different usefull tools and reg. cleaner
- Deamon Tools
- MuiscBrainz Picard: Tag your mp3's PROPERLY
- PureVideo (since you got 6200) - ($ NOT FREE $)
- A DVD/CD-speed controller (like Nero Drive speed or simular)
- Aslo: Tried Silent Drive (for HDD - enables AAM), but not sure if it causes stutter
