Hello all,
Last week I have installed MP (v1.0.2.) on a clean XP PRO SP3 installation.
This is what did while installing the system:
- Installed XP PRO SP3
- Updated drivers (motherboard, videocard)
- Installed MP
- Installed ffdshow-tryout codecs (following the mediaportal codec guide v.2.pdf)(from Goose) (http://users.vic.chariot.net.au/~mitreski/mediaportal codec guide v.2.pdf)
- Configured MP (video drivers, video location, language and country
I stated MP to give it a try. But when i stated a movie(avi FORMAT) MP give the message: MP can't play movie en gives an video and audio format. (I have tryed more movie, and local and remote located movies)
So I tried the following :
- Reinstalled the codecs (Following manual Goose), configured codecs --> No result.
- Uninstalled MP, installed codecs (following manual Goose), configured codecs (ffdshow tryout) & installed MP --> No results
- Uninstalled ffdshow codec, installed K-lite codec pack --> No result.
- Unistalled k-lite codes pack, uninstalled MP, installed AC3 filter, Media splitter, FFDshow, MPC-HC filter & MP (Media Portal alternatief voor Windows Media Center (Deel 2) - Client Software Algemeen - GoT) (Dutch text) --> No result
Can someone support me? The movie part of MP is the most important part for me, and I'm al ready a week trying to get a avi to play.
Maybe I could try the following:
- Instal XP PRO SP3 (fresh copy) (no old codecs installations making problems
)
- Updated drives
- Instal codecs
- Try avi in Windows Media player --> IF ok THEN next step.
- Installing and configuring MP
It did not jet try this because it will take more time, and a doubt that it will work. Could someone give me some advice?
Greetings E
